BNI 商界人脉

BNI is the abbreviation for Business Network International. It originated from the United States in the year 1985. It is a franchising business providing a platform for mutual cooperation and referrals for each of its members.
BNI是Business Network International的简称。源自美国,它创立于1985年。它是以专营权的方式运作着,提供各个商业经营者一个互相合作和引荐的平台。

I will not discuss here its weekly meeting. I will share the value I receive from it. It does not represent BNI as a whole but merely my own experience in the group I was joining.
我不会在这里讨论有关它每周一次的开会流程。我将分享的会是它带给我的价值。我所说的仅是个人立场,它并不代表商界人脉的全部。

This is the first time I have became a member. The greatest value I obtained from it should be personal development. Every week, I have to prepare for myself less than 60 seconds of business briefing in order to present it to other members and guests in the meeting. Of course I can use the same script every week, but I think no one would like to listen to it. Would you like to repeat the same TV ads?
这是我第一次成为会员。在这平台里,最让我获益的应该是个人的发展。每个礼拜,我都得为自己准备好少于60秒的业务简报,以便在会议内把它呈现给其他的会员与来宾。当然我可以每个礼拜都用同一个台词,但我想没有人会愿意听吧?你愿意重复地看同样的电视广告吗?

Its monetary return is really slow. It is focusing on building relationship, network of contacts and trust. Small ticket items tend to get a referral easier and sell faster and vice versa. If you are selling big ticket items, be prepared it may take you a year if not longer to get a done deal.
商界人脉引荐平台带给我金钱上的回报率是极其的低。它是一个比较着重于人脉与信任建立的平台。低价格的物品或服务当然比较容易取得订单,反之亦然。如果你的业务是属于高价如上万新元的物品或服务,那请你务必做好一年内都没有成交的准备。

However, for some trades such as carpentry or property agent, you may expect your chapter to give you at least SGD20,000 revenue a year.
然而,对于某些行业,如木工或地产代理,您的分会或许可以为您带来每年至少两万块新元的收入。

This networking platform requires your high commitment of time. In addition to attending the weekly meeting, you also need to invite visitors, prepare script, minimum once-a-week meet up with a member in addition to the weekly meeting schedule, find referrals for your fellow members and attending training. If you are one of the Leadership Team (LT) or Membership Committee, you have additional obligatory work to do without getting paid a single cent. Of course, your membership fee will be free during this period of time if you are one of the LT. But the hard work you have to pay will go beyond the membership fee you had to pay.
这平台需要你时间上的高度配合。除了出席每个礼拜一天的会议,你(每个礼拜)还需要:邀约来宾,准备简报,见至少一个会员以便彼此了解业务,找引荐,进修。如果你是领导班子或委员会的其中一员,你还会有其它义务性质的工作得做。当然,如果你是领导班子,在这期间,你的会员费将会是免费的。但,你得付出的辛劳将超越你原本该付的会员费。

For me, the membership fee is expensive. Though it is only SGD660 a year plus one-time registration fee of SGD150 which is not applicable for membership renewal case, I also have to pay monthly meeting fee of SGD90 to share the cost of venue rental and refreshment. It costs me SGD1,890 a year. This fee does not include mandatory training fee. Why it is compulsory? It is claimed to help members to learn how to maximize the use of BNI platform and in order to be qualified for the 10 minutes business presentation. Besides, I have to maintain a healthy "traffic light". I feel like going back to elementary school. If the profit you make from the group is sufficient to cover the above-mentioned expenses and your time cost, it is worth your while to join. Otherwise, it is waste of your money and time.
对我而言,会员费是昂贵的。虽然说一年只是660新元加一次性150新元的报名费,但我需要每个月付90新元的场地租金与不怎么样的晚餐。一年下来,总费用为1,890新元。这费用还不包括强制性的进修费用。为何说强制性呢?因为如果没参与其课程,你就没有可以做10分钟业务简报的资格。除此,每个会员需要保持各自一个健康的“红绿灯”。我感觉像回到小学一样。如果你从中赚取的利润可以支付以上的费用与时间成本,那成为会员还是划算的,反之亦然。

All in all, is this platform helpful enough to increase your business vary from person to person. It works well for someone does not mean that it is equally effective for you. However, it does positively "force" me to step outside of my comfort zone and connect with people more confidently. Of course, you may have unexpected rewards which you can not measure with the monetary value that you have put in, such as some members will be very generous to share with you his expertise and advice, and some rewarding returns come really late.
总而言之,这平台有助增长你的业绩与否,真的是因人而异,无法一概而论的。然而,通过它,我所学到的人脉建立基础是无价的。它确确实实地把我“逼”出了自己的舒适圈,建立与人交往和沟通的自信。当然,你也会有意外的收获。而这些收获并不可以用您投入下去的金钱来做一个比较。比如一些会员会很大方地与你分享他的专业知识和建议,还有不为人知的商业内幕和辛酸,而有些丰收是比较晚才会降临的。
